It is the Lord who calls today,
'Rise up my Love and come away
out of the world and all it's
weights,
out of the sin that I hate.
Rise up my love and be not proud,
rise up my love above the crowd.
Declare My Name upon the earth,
Rise up My Love--it is the Lord.
I hear Hear His voice beckoning
sweetly unto me:
"Rise up, my Love and come away
with Me"
Springtime is here, winter has
gone and past.
The fig trees and vines are
blossom forth again at last.
I will turn, My Love, till
the dawn comes in,
Till the shadows flee away.
I will hide myself in the cleft of
the rock
Until the break of day.
I hear His knock and my heart
awakes to Him,
There at my door and He is waiting
to come in,
Saying "Rise up my Love,
Hurry my head is drenched with
dew.
Open to Me and I will come and sup
with you."
And my heart was moved as I heard
His voice;
I arose, but He was gone.
Though I searched all night till
the dawn came in,
I had waited much too long.
Come back, my Love, cause me to
hear Thy Voice once more,
Hide not Thy face, now I am
waiting at my door.
What is my Love? He's greater than
any I have known,
The fairest of all and I am His
and His alone.
Now I hear His Voice, my Beloved's
Voice
As He calls to me to come.
I will wait no more--I will gladly
go
Till my work on earth is done.
Now I see His Face, my Beloved's
Face,
As He calls to me to arise.
Through the clouds I see all the
love for me
In my Beloved's eyes.
Rise up my Love---it is the Lord. |
