HOPE FOR THOSE WHO ARE HOMELESS

Homeless
But Not Hopeless by Moses Jackson
click to read WHAT WOULD YOU DO? What would you do if you had no-where to live? No place for privacy, no place to lie down and sleep in your own bed? What if you had no closet to hang your close in or no kitchen to cook in? What if you had no bathroom to perform even the most basic acts of hygiene? And what if there was no change on the horizon? As far as you know, this is it? What if you had no job? No money and no help? And no empathy from others—even from the Body of Christ who are supposed to care? Homelessness is becoming more common. Being homeless doesn’t mean a person is lazy or uneducated or not willing to work or be responsible. HOMELESSNESS CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU. Jesus Himself told us to be concerned about the homeless and to get involved! Most of us are familiar with this passage of Scripture: Matthew 25:31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. These verses were the foundation for hopeontheinside.org. I wanted to create a place that ministers directly to these needs--a place where we can minister to one another. We visit the sick every day on the internet. I can’t come to your houses personally and you can’t come to mine, but through the net, I can visit you and you can visit me. We have a community. I can’t get out to visit prisoners and very few of you can either, but we ARE doing it through the internet. And, now I believe that God is leading us to go ahead with the third part of this ministry—to visit the homeless through the internet. You would think that would be impossible but, believe it or not, there are homeless communities on the internet and I know that God is going to help us to reach out to these dear ones. THIS IS PART OF CHRIST’S COMMISSION TO US!
