HE WHO
DWELLS IN THE SHADOW
OF THE MOST
HIGH
By Nancy Dittert (Aka~ Pastor
Nancie-Rose)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty I will say
of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in Whom I trust." (Psalm 91:1-2 NIV)
Many of us remember the days that we were physically
able to attend church to receive of the blessings and to
feed our thirsty souls. Walking into our church and sitting
in the presence of God was a weekly blessing that helped
us through the days and weeks to come.
So what happens then when we can't get out like we used
to and we find ourselves bedfast or a shut in? How in the
world do we get the feedings and blessings when we can
no longer get out? Are we to feel all alone and deprived?
These are questions that many of us have asked ourselves.
So where do we go from here!
I have found in my own circumstances that a daily routine
of Bible reading, and prayer gets me through. Also having
a Devotional time with your spouse every day is greatly
helpful. My husband and I are both disabled so we can
worship God together daily as we pray together and read
scriptures in the morning.
Also we can get the word out to our churches. Call around
in your area and see if there is perhaps someone that
will come out monthly to serve you communion and pray
with you. Maybe someone would even be willing to hold
a weekly Bible Study in your home!
Purchasing Praise & Worship CD's or tapes is a good way
to feel God's presence all around us. We can bask in God's
love as we listen to the beautiful music and sing along.
Yes dear friends, we can truly dwell in the shelter of the
Most High no matter where we are. We can rest in His
love. For He is with us no matter what, no matter where.
He is our God and above him there is no other.
Father God... we thank You for always being here for us.
We thank You that you are our refuge and fortress. Amen.
