MEDS, NEW
BODIES, AND RESTORATION
Dear _____I am so so very thankful to Jesus
that you found this site (Forum
at Rest Ministries) . I am so sorry it
is so bad for you. I too am allergic to
almost everything. There is a huge list--no
one would believe it , but I know that you
would. There are drugs that can keep others
alive that I can never take.
I too was given a drug which caused some
cognitive difficulties. I just couldn't
concentrate or remember things the way I
used to. Then my illness causes a LOT of
that now also. That is hard isn't it _____,
to know what we used to do with our brains
but can no longer do?
I really get quite excited to realize that
soon, when I get my new body back, I will
have my brain restored and I can study all
day and all day--since there be no night on
the new earth!!!! We will be restored, and
that does bring a smile to myself that I get
to be the old me again.
One of my favorite parts of Scripture is
this:
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new EARTH,
for the first heaven and the first Earth had
passed away, [Actually the earth will be
"laid bare" but NOT destroyed--God is
restoring ALL THINGS and will restore the
earth as it was before the fall], and there
was no longer any sea.
I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem,
(that is us, you and me!) coming down
out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride
beautifully dressed for her husband. (See?
That is us coming down from heaven!)
And I heard a loud voice from the throne
saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men
and He will live with them." God comes down
with us to the newly restored earth-- is
that exciting or what?!!!That He would come
to dwell with us on the earth is so.....I
have no word for that kind of love! He knows
that we want to be here, and He comes to
dwell with us here. Jesus conquered death!
And we will come back! So we have nothing to
lose through death!
"And I heard a voice from the throne saying,
'Now God is with men, and He will live with
them.'"
How wonderful can God get?! He will live on
this earth with us!! He will have to give us
a great vocabulary to worship Him with
because we just don't HAVE the words here to
explain how precious it is of Him to know
that we don't want to die, that we love this
earth, that He meant for us to be here, and
the FALL ruined all that -- He loves the
earth too! He loves His world, and He tells
us that He looks with HOPE to the day of
restoration--when the earth will no longer
groan!--"when the dwelling of God is with
men, and He will live with them."
"They will be His people, and God himself
will be with them and be their God. He will
wipe every tear from their eyes. there will
be no more death or mourning or crying or
paiin, for the old order of things has
passed away."
"He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am
making everything new!'" Rev. 21:1-5
This is so real and exciting to me, that He
takes away the fear of leaving this
body---just can't wait to get that new one
and till the day when He makes that new
earth and we come back and He comes down to
dwell with us!
Now fearing those meds is tough, I
know--there is so much I can't take and have
SO MANY allergic reactions to everything,
and I am going to pray that God takes away
all that fear. We don't know what will
happen in the days that we are in the
hospital or if we die at home. But one thing
is sure, whenever it does come, we will have
nothing to lose! And I KNOW that He will be
with us when we are struggling with things
AND without our meds.
Here is the
prayer that Sunniness prayed for this dear
sister...I join her in praying this prayer
for YOU TOO! So, put YOUR name in the blank
space.
Let's pray together. "Oh dear
Father, we call out to you knowing that You
hurt with us in _____ pain and misery. You
never intended us to suffer like this and
you hate that we are suffering and you look
forward to that day when you willl free us
from this body of death. Please give your
strength to _____, your hope, your meaning
of life and who we can trust you to bring
good things out of this suffering. You will
reward us for this, because we suffer with
love for you.
Please help _____to keep her "mind stayed on
thee and give her perfect peace" and not the
fear of medications. The enemy will give us
fears that may never happen. Keep our mind
on you and your strength that is there for
us when we are weak. Thank you for taking
pity on us in our vulnerability and you care
for us by lifting our despair up into HOPE!
You strengthen the "inner man" by reminding
us that we really are safe in your hands no
matter what our situation. We can feel safe
with you.
Please bring your peace that
passes all understanding to my sister
tonight, ease her distress and bring joy to
her heart through your words and NOT the
enemy's words who tell her that she will get
hurt in the hospital and have to be afraid
there. There is no end to what the enemy
will frighten us with, so we need so much
for you to bring YOUR WORDS and speak truth
to _______, that you tell us to pray to YOU
and to TRUST you and not believe all the
lies and fears that are thrown at us.
Please, oh God, give _______ rest, deep
sleep, so that she can not have so much
depression. Please bring your self to her.
When we are in your presence we are amazed
at the peace you give us. Please bring that
to ______tonight, and thank you for bringing
her here to this site, and for giving her
the brains to figure all of this out. Please
watch over her and keep her so close that
she won't listen to the enemy who is scaring
her and bring your sweet words to her. In
Jesus name, Amen!"
