As
pressure and stress bear down on me, No matter how spiritual you are, you are going to have days filled with stress, pain, Loss, warfare. For those of us who are sick, disabled, those days are going to be more frequent than for others. If you are in prison, your stress is going to be with you 24-7 and will consume you if you let it. It is much wiser to be prepared before hand to deal with these than to be blindsided by them. And when those times come, turn to God and to His Word. Don't let stress and problems rob you of your blessings and your family. When you are under stress, you can hurt the people you love the most, so you need to take special care---back off and get into a spirit of worship. Ask God for peace and clarity. Then you will pray in a more effective way. Prayers in desperation and depression can be unfocused, unscriptural, and ineffective. And, most important, never make a major decision while you're in the valley---or in trouble and turmoil. You'll only have to clean up a mess if you do. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IS THIS-- Philipp. 4:6-8 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. When you are under great stress, you tend to feel isolated---even if you aren't. God will send people, usually friends, to help. They will be your "angels", offering solutions, but you may not want to listen. Discipline yourself to listen and consider what they are saying. Ask God that the eyes of your understanding be opened so that you can see you problems in perspective. You'll see the problems begin to shrink. Ephesians 1:17-19 Amplified Bible (AMP) 17For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 19And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, You will find that situations that seemed impossible will suddenly work themselves out. Things have a way of changing when you simply endure. God can turn anything around in an instant. In fact, He might just be changing your situation while you're reading this! Let’s pray.
