FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS PART TWO MIDWEEK OCTOBER 25, 2006
Last Wednesday night, I spoke on the subject “for such a time as this”. Tonight I want to continue with that subject. Esther was born for a purpose and God raised her up to be a queen. She came to the Kingdom for a special time.
Esther 4:13-15 Amplified Bible (AMP) For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?
She’d come to the kingdom for a time when her whole race would be threatened with extinction. But God strategically placed her in the palace as queen so that she could plead the case of her people. She delivered her people from death and also delivered Persia and the King from what would have been the sure wrath of God if they had tried to destroy the Jewish people.
GOD HAS STRATEGICALLY PLACED US TO PLEAD THE CASE OF THOSE WHO ARE HELPLESS—TO PRAY AND INTERCEDE SO THAT PEOPLE CAN BE SAVED IN THIS CRITICAL TIME WE’RE LIVING IN.
WHAT TIME ARE WE LIVING IN? THIS TIME….
Matthew 24:3-8 3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.
We are in a time and season of history spoken of in the Bible—the BEGINNING OF BIRTH PANGS—nation is rising up against nation and kingdom against Kingdom. The Kingdom of God has warriors who have the spiritual authority to affect what is going on in the world. All through Bible times, when enemies came against God’s people, God had them do something in obedience and then GOD HIMSELF confused the enemy and the enemy turned on themselves.
Judges 4:14-16 And Deborah said to Barak, Up! For this is the day when the Lord has given Sisera into your hand. Is not the Lord gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men following him. 15And the Lord confused and terrified Sisera and all his chariot drivers and all his army before Barak with the sword.
God Himself is giving His children the cry: "UP! This is the day when the Lord has given the enemy into your hand."
SINCE WE LIVE IN THIS TIME WHEN NATON IS RISING UP AGAINST NATION, AND KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM---WHEN THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS IS RISING UP AGAINST THE KINGDOM OF GOD—WE ARE LIVNG IN WAR ZONES…NO MATTER WHERE WE LIVE.
We who belong to Jesus are to be world conscious and WAR-CONSCIOUS. I am speaking of the SPIRITUAL war. Every child of God is in a global ministry. We are an outreach to the nations, every single one of us. The nations and America need us to stand in the gap.
We have become too complacent because we know we are children of the King and we feel safe. After all, we have the promise that “all things work together for our good” according to Romans 8:28
BUT THOSE WHO ARE NOT LIVING FOR GOD DON’T HAVE THAT PROMISE. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO DON’T EVEN KNOW THAT PROMISE EXISTS. THEY NEED OUR PRAYERS. They need someone to stand in the gap for them
The King of Kings has called us to the kingdom for such a time as this--to open our eyes and our ears and be watchmen and prayer warriors. We are called to pray and intercede as if we were the only thing between war and peace because, in reality, we are. We have power with God and God wants us to use it. I don’t know why God chooses to use prayer as His method—but He does and we must obey and pray.
We have our marching order: fast, pray, and declare the Word. Take up the sword of the spirit, yes, but cry out for the souls who will perish if we don’t humble ourselves before God and make intercession for them.
WE HAVE COME TO THE KINGDOM FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
Maybe you think that because you are shut-in, sick, in prison, homeless or disabled you don’t have as much responsibility to pray and fight the battle. But, we actually have more ability to pray and intercede than those who are “out and about”.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO? WE CAN’T GO OUT AND FIGHT IN THE TRENCHES, CAN WE? WELL, WE DON’T HAVE TO. We can wage war with the enemy from right where we are and be more effective than battalions of soldiers.
We can pray, fast (it doesn’t mean we have to go without food) and speak God’s word. We can agree together as touching these things! Down with terrorism. The enemy that destroys innocent people will be stopped now. Israel will be protected.
Look at this scripture: Exodus 17:9-12 And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us out men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand. 10So Joshua did as Moses said and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the hilltop. 11When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12But Moses' hands were heavy and grew weary. So [the other men] took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun
When Moses held up his hands the battle was won. When he lowered them, the battle was lost. He didn’t have the strength to do it alone, so Aaron and Hur held his hands up and they had complete victory. The battle was won –NOT BY THE SOLDIERS—BUT BY SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY!
Let’s lift our hands to God for our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. When the wars started we were focused on it—praying and interceding—and they were winning. In Afghanistan, they drove out the Taliban. In Iraq, they took the ground and the air and toppled Sadam’s statue. We cheered and then, I am afraid, we forgot.
NOW, THERE IS CIVIL WAR IN IRAQ AND THE TALIBAN HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RISE UP AGAIN IN AFGHANISTAN. OUR SOLDIERS NEED THE ANOINTING OF GOD TO WIN.
DON’T BLAME OTHERS FOR WHY WE ARE NOT WINNING THE WAR!! What war was ever won without prayer? It’s not by might or by power but by God’s Spirit. It’s not the chariots or horses—or the tanks and bombs. IT IS PRAYER AND INTERCESSION. IT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO BRINGS THE VICTORY!
We can lift their hands for battle!!! We can be the spiritual backbone for our soldiers in Iraq. We can cause the terrorists to turn their weapons on one another instead of on innocent people. But, we can also pray that their terrorism gets KILLED by the revelation of Jesus and His love. Let us confuse the REAL enemy—the spiritual powers of darkness. Let’s take away the power and authority of the enemy to control these people. LET’S ASSAULT THE GATES OF HELL. THEY WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST US IF WE JOIN OUR HEARTS TOGETHER.
God help us if we don't stand up and use the spiritual authority that God has given us. What legacy will we leave our children and grandchildren if we fail to heed the warning?
Do we want to see the terrorists win? If they do, they will NOT STAY IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD. WE, NOT THE GENERALS, ARE THE ONES THAT CAN STOP THEM WITH PRAYER AND INTERCESSION.
WE HAVE COME TO THE KINGDOM—THE KINGDOM OF GOD—FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!!!!
LET’S KEEP PENNI IN PRAYER AND HER DAUGHTER KRISTI AND SON-IN-LAW JIMMY. WE PRAY FOR RHONDA.
AND Lord I ask special prayer for those who are depressed--those who have lost hope. Give them hope and lift their spirits now Lord. Reach out and touch everyone who is listening with healing and restoration. Thank You Lord--in the Name of Jesus.
Now, Lord, we pray for the battle, that it will be won by You. Confuse the enemy and stop the terrorists--save them or take them out. May the battles be fought, and won by our soldiers and be over, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
